What is important in your life?

What is important in your life?

5th graders at Bennett Elementary School are telling stories about their lives.

First, students were posed a question “if you could take a photograph of anything at all, what would it be? real or imaginary – past, present or future”. They developed short narratives and hand drawn images as a response.

Next, armed with disposal cameras, students set out to answer the question “What is important in your life?”. The resulting photographs, presented in book form, are truly impressive – with short photo essays on everything from family and community to cars and dogs to celebration and play.

One image from each young photographer was exhibited in the storefront windows of Compás Center of Music and Performing Arts Southwest, one block west of the school, for the neighborhood to see.
