Radio Health Exercise

“Back in our hometown (in China and Korea), our schools required a lot of studying. It was a huge challenge for us, for students, to sit on their desks for 15 to 16 hours per day. The Asian education system requires a different method from American schools. Everyday, after few morning classes, we performed a physical and mental activity called Radio Health Exercise for 10 minutes. Inspired by our own experiences in Asian schools, we decide to develop a simple but helpful exercise for young people in the United States.”

According to statistics published by the National Center for Education Statistics, 4.3 million American high school students spend approximately 7-8 hours per day sitting on their desks. This can negatively affect their bodies and minds, Not only, it can ruin their physical biorhythm, but also it can degrade their concentration skills.

The Radio Health Exercise activity requires four physical movements that are performed over subtle background music with eyes closed. This activity helps students relieve mental and muscle tensions and enhances their cognitive abilities. By repeating and practicing this exercise during school students will find themselves more relaxed, giving them better focus, concentration and reduced stress.
